For a safe and relaxing stay

At Färna Herrgård & Spa, the safety of our guests and employees is always our top priority. Our ambition is to create an environment where you can relax and feel safe – whether you are here for a conference, a weekend or a day in our spa. For us, safety is both about prevention and knowing how to act if something should happen.

We work daily with routines, training, and follow-ups to ensure we are well prepared. Most of this isn’t visible to you – but should an emergency occur, you can feel confident that we will do everything possible to take care of you. An important part of our preventive work is that you, as our guest, are aware of how we handle safety, as well as what we would like you to do when you arrive in your room and during your stay.

To make your stay as safe as possible, we would like you to take a few minutes when you get to your room to read the safety information below – it will give you a clear picture of how we work and what you can do in case of an emergency.

In an emergency situation

  • Always call 112 (SOS Alarm).
  • State: “Färna Herrgård & Spa, Färna Herrgård 1, 73970 Skinnskatteberg” and the building concerned.
  • Tell us what happened, the phone number you are calling from and how many of you there are
  • Then contact the reception on +46 222-281 90. At night you can reach our emergency number +46 76-822 81 90.
  • A defibrillator is available at the manor house reception. (Accessible during daytime. For access at night, please call our emergency number)

Fire safety

Here you will find information about how we systematically work with this and what you as a guest can do in advance or in case of a fire

What we do

  • All buildings are equipped with fire alarms connected directly to SOS Alarm.
  • Sprinklers, portable fire extinguishers and fire blankets are strategically placed.
  • We train staff through annual fire and evacuation drills.
  • New employees always receive fire safety training.
  • We collaborate with Anticimex on fire protection, inspections and training.

When you arrive at the room

  • When you check in, take a moment to study the evacuation plan
  • If you have special evacuation needs, please inform the reception.
  • Find your nearest evacuation route and notice where the assembly point (‘Norwegian stone’) is located (opposite the guest parking outside the Manor)
  • Locate alarm button and fire extinguisher.
  • Never block emergency exits with luggage or other items.
  • Respect the smoking ban – smoking in the room can trigger the fire alarm and lead to an emergency call-out (charged at SEK 6 000).
  • It is forbidden to light candles in the room.
  • Unplug chargers from the socket when leaving the room and during the night.

If you detect a fire

  • Alert the reception or call 112 from a safe place.
  • If the fire is small – use a fire extinguisher or fire blanket.
  • If you cannot extinguish – close the door to the burning room.
  • If the corridor is smoke-filled – stay in the room.
  • The best air is near the floor in a smoky room.

If the alarm goes off

  • Warn and rescue if you judge that you can, without putting yourself in danger
  • Leave the room if the corridor is free of smoke.
  • If it is safe to evacuate, exit through the nearest emergency exit.
  • Gather at the meeting point located at “Norska stenen” (go down the manor stairs, then you will find the Norwegian stone on the right opposite the manor’s guest parking)

If you cannot leave the room

  • Call reception and 112 and tell them you are still in the room.
  • Seal door gaps with wet towels.
  • Make yourself visible in the window.
  • Wait for the rescuers’ instructions

IT security

Here you will find a description of how we work with our IT security on a daily basis to avoid breaches and protect your data

What we do

  • All guests’ personal data is handled securely and in accordance with the GDPR.
  • We use separate networks for guests and staff.
